Feet that burn are miserable as most a due to a systemic medical issue and there is not much more that can be done other than symptomatic relief. A early description of the problem back in 1829 and 1946 led the problem to be initially called Grierson Gopalan Syndrome. Since then multiple reasons for burning feet have been identified.
The more common causes are nutritional (eg Vitamin B deficiency; Chronic alcoholism), metabolic or endocrine (eg Diabetes mellitus; Renal failure), hereditary, traumatic nerve compression, erythromelalgia with some being idiopathic.
Any treatment of burning feet symptoms will need to be directed at the underlying cause if that is possible. Medication to deal with the pain is often commonly prescribed.
